La Citadelle Laferrière
La Citadelle Laferrière ou, Citadelle Henry Christophe, ou tout simplement la Citadelle, est une grande forteresse de montagne dans le nord d'Haïti, à environ 17 miles au sud de la ville de Cap-Haïtien et de cinq miles de la ville de Milot, sur la chaîne du Bonnet à l'Evêque. Il a été construit pour défendre les habitants nouvellement libérés contre le retour de l'armée française. Mais les Français ne revienne en force. La Citadelle a été inauguré en 1813. Cette forteresse emblématique était autrefois le joyau d'Haïti. La Citadelle est classée patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO.
